Check out Austin's Funk 3/4 class on You Tube!

The kids love Austin's Hip Hop Class!! It is Krazy!
**From the teacher, Austin "My "Funk 3/4 Class" from The Pointe studio in Lindon, UT. These kids are really good for their age. To the dancers: as you practice make sure not to rush at the beginning, and remember to make your moves clean and sharp. It's so fast that it can easily become a mess of moves where the audience can't identify what you're doing, so remember the isolation stuff we talked about. "

Pointe Superstar-Marianne Vargas

Our Pointe Superstar this week is the beautiful and talented, Marianne Vargas. Her personality shines like a star every time she enters the studio! Marianne is an example to everyone, as she overcomes each trial she is given-Marianne has Spina Bifida and travels in a wheel chair. She proves that beauty in movement is not limited by disability. She loves taking our Creative Movement class, her favorite dance style is hip hop and we think she is tops! Check her out in this video and we know you will be impressed!

WE LOVE YOU MARIANNE!

Spotlight Class Tap 4!

WAY TO WORK HARD TAP 4!

"I really enjoy teaching Tap 4. The girls learn very quickly and we are able to get through a lot of material each class. Everyone is very enthusiastic about tap and loves to learn new combinations, steps, and tricks. The girls in this class are especially fun to teach because they have great personalities and are always helping and encouraging one another to do their best and get the steps. In Tap 4 we have been working on various across the floor combinations that include flaps, drawbacks, thirds and fifths, and riffs. We have also been working on center rhythm combos that include heel work and paradiddles. A large emphasis so far this year has been on tricks and perfecting the girls' pick-ups (one-footed, single, and double) grab-offs, and wings." -From the instructor, Kenady Bunker

Spotlight Class-Ballet 2

Spotlight this week is Ballet 2! These girls are working hard! Way to go!!

From instructor, Michelle Lapioli...

"Ballet 2 is one of my favorite classes to teach! The girls always work hard and are learning so fast! I love watching them improve during each lesson. This class is especially fun for me because, not only are the girls talented, but they all have wonderful personalities! I feel privileged to work with such outstanding young ladies. These beautiful ballerinas have been learning correct posture, passes, arabesques, port de bras, sautes, pas de chats, and more! I'm so proud of these girls! Love, Michelle Lapioli"

What is The Pointe?

What is The Pointe?
The Pointe is a pre-professional conservatory that is designed to propel highly motivated and talented students towards excellence and diversity. It is a highly structured and disciplined 8 year program that emphasizes technique, artistry, versatility, and performance.
The Pointe’s program is designed to prepare dancers and performers for professional careers in a positive structured environment. The central philosophy of The Pointe is to demand the best of each student whether he or she plans to perform professionally or not. Our goal is to have each student understand the powerful impact and influence the performing arts can have in their lives by teaching them coordination, technique, self-expression and responsibility that will enhance self- discipline, self-esteem and spiritual well-being.
We offer:
Ongoing Classes in BALLET, JAZZ, FUNK, TAP, BREAKDANCING, BALLROOM, VOCAL, TECHNIQUE
Online registration and current info for each individual child
Yearly rotating curriculum to maximize training in all genres (including acting, voice, ballroom, and audition courses) allows for more time outside of the studio.
Companies focus mainly on choreography, mentoring, and non-competitive performances
Jazz 4 rotates teachers on a monthly basis, giving students optimum training in a variety of styles.
Our curriculum focuses on the dancer as an individual and allows for maximum individual growth.
We believe in teaching dancers to share their talent for the benefit of others!
